Unfazed Russell dismisses Antonelli momentum in early title fight

George Russell insists he’s not losing sleep over the Formula 1 title picture – despite watching the early championship lead slip from his grasp. After a dominant start to the 2026 season in Australia, the Mercedes driver has been edged out by teammate Kimi Antonelli, who now holds a nine-point advantage after back-to-back race wins in China and Japan. For Russell, though, the shift is less about momentum and more about circumstance.
