Pirelli revises its tyre choice for Bahrain GP

Pirelli has reacted to the recent criticism it faced in China after the soft tyre degraded quicker than expected, on average lasting just six laps. The Italian supplier had allocated the soft and hard compounds for the Bahrain Grand Prix, but it will now bring the medium instead of the soft. Pirelli motorsport director Paul Hembery still expects an average of three stops per car despite the switch to the two hardest compounds. "We expect about three stops per car, although we’ll have to wait to get some running in on Friday before we can look at the data and make a more accurate prediction," he said.
