Pirelli to auction off 2011 HRT
Sutton Images Pirelli is planning to auction a 2011 HRT chassis on eBay after failing to find a use for it in its promotional department. The Italian tyre company acquired the car when the Spanish team liquidated its assets earlier this year. At the time the team intended to paint the engine-less chassis in Pirelli colours and use it at promotional events, but motorsport director Paul Hembery said his company has now changed its plans. "There doesn't seem to be a lot of enthusiasm, it's a bit of a shame really," he told Reuters. "Our marketing department said nobody seems to want to use it.
