Red Bull protest Mercedes test

Red Bull Racing have lodged an official complaint about Mercedes recently spent three days testing with Pirelli. Although in-season testing is banned from F1, Pirelli's contract states that they can call upon any team to help them test their tyres. As a result, the Italian manufacturer asked Mercedes to run for three days in the wake of the Spanish Grand Prix. The team, though, was kept a secret from Mercedes' rivals who only found out on Saturday night in Monaco. Immediately there were reports that some teams could protest with Red Bull and Ferrari heading the list of complaints. Team boss Christian Horner has now confirmed that Red Bull have done just that.
