Sauber expects to retain Ferrari engines

Sauber has explained that it is expecting to retain its Ferrari engine agreement under the new era of technical regulations, with the sport preparing to make the transition from the current V8 powerplants to turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 units next season. The Hinwil-based outfit has raced with the Italian manufacturer's engines since 2010, when it re-entered the sport as a private team following the departure of BMW, and team boss Monisha Kaltenborn says there are no plans to change supplier.
