Chilton visor given to FIA

The Marussia F1 team has confirmed that one of Max Chilton’s visors has been handed to the FIA following an incident in practice at the German Grand Prix last weekend, when a stone got flicked up and hit the Englishman’s helmet. The stone left a small dent in the Zylon strip, which is fitted to the visor and which was brought in at the start of the 2011 F1 season in response to what happened to Felipe Massa at the 2009 Hungarian GP when he was hit by a spring. “Our Team Manager submitted the visor to the FIA and it is now with them.
