Ecclestone confirms Indian Grand Prix to skip 2014

Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that the 2014 Indian Grand Prix will be skipped, for the race to return in 2015. Ecclestone wants to move the race into the early bracket of the season but with a race in October 2013 and a round in March or April of 2014, it wasn't going to work or be viable with promoters. The F1 boss has agreed with promoter Jaypee, in that it would make no sense to hold two Indian Grand Prix's within a six month period. A similar predicament occurred during 2000 and 2001 with the Malaysian Grand Prix being moved from a late calendar date to one of the first of the season, alongside China in 2008 and 2009 when a similar move occurred.
