Russian GP misses deadline for application
Following the news that the Indian Grand Prix has disappeared from the 2014 calendar, it seems that the Russian Grand Prix planned in Sochi could also be facing tough times as organizers missed the deadline to file for application with the FIA on July 31st. According to Sky Sports F1, the Russian Automobile Federation (RAF) and race organizers are failing to come to an agreement:
'The application to the FIA for submitting the Russian Grand Prix to the 2014 Formula One calendar was not sent in proper time as [promoters] JSC Omega didn't fulfil the necessary conditions,' the RAF said in a statement.
