'One of the best' for Vergne
Jean-Eric Vergne reckons his Friday's running at Spa was some of the best he's had on an opening day of a grand prix weekend.
The Frenchman, who one could say has a point to prove after being passed over for a 2014 Red Bull ride, had the measure of his team-mate in Friday's practice.
Although Vergne could only manage P13 on a drying track in the morning, he found some impressive pace in the afternoon's dry session.
Clocking a 1:50.253, he finished the day fifth quickest, 0.922s off the pace. However, more to the point he was a full second quicker than Daniel Ricciardo.
"Friday went very smoothly for us," Vergne said.
