Hamilton tops opening Monza practice

Lewis Hamilton set the pace during Friday morning's opening free practice session for the Italian Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver, who triumphed at Monza 12 months ago, recorded a fastest effort of 1:25.565 to lead Fernando Alonso by three hundredths of a second, with team-mate Nico Rosberg occupying third. More to follow. Friday afternoon's second free practice session at Monza gets underway at 2pm local time (GMT +2) and can be track via the GPUpdate.net live report feature
