Boullier: Talent not weight will decide drivers

Lotus team principal Eric Boullier has insisted driver weight will not impact on who the team opts for in 2014. The subject of weight will be more important next season, when the new engines come in, but while this will disadvantage some drivers, like Sauber pilot Nico Hülkenberg, who has been linked to the Enstone-based squad as a replacement for the Ferrari bound Kimi Räikkönen, Boullier added that talent and speed will be a far more important factor. “We’re more interested in the talent and potential of a driver rather than the difference of a few kilos,” Boullier confirmed. “We have confidence in our development team to be able to produce a car for the 2014 regulations which...
