P1: Hamilton goes fastest

Lewis Hamilton was fastest in opening practice for the Japanese Grand Prix ahead of Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg.Hamilton lapped the 5.807km Suzuka circuit in a time of 1:34.157s to end the session 0.330s faster than Rosberg. World Champion Sebastian Vettel was third fastest ahead of Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber, with Ferrari's Felipe Massa fifth ahead of his team-mate Fernando Alonso. The trend continued down the top ten, with Lotus's Romain Grosjean seventh fastest ahead of Kimi Raikkonen.
