De Villota crash linked to death - family

The family of former Formula One test driver Maria de Villota have said her sudden death on Friday was linked to the severe injuries she suffered in a crash last year. De Villota suffered serious head and facial injuries, including the loss of her right eye in the crash, while testing for the Marrusia team at Duxford Aerodrome in Cambridgeshire, England last July. The 33-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in the southern Spanish city of Seville on Friday morning and the autopsy carried out on her body confirmed that she had died of natural causes.
