Magnussen: 'I'm as ready for F1 as you can get'

Young Danish driver Kevin Magnussen is eyeing a Formula 1 seat for 2014 after ticking off the Formula Renault 3.5 Series championship from his CV. The son of former McLaren and Stewart driver Jan Magnussen took five wins during the 2013 FR3.5 season to take the crown with a 60-point lead over runenr up Stoffel Vandoorne. He's currently backed by McLaren who are hopeful of placing him in a Marussia for a year before taking him on as a race driver in '15 if he's ready. The 21-year-old certainly believes he's ready for the chance. "I'm very proud about my record in 2013," he said after finishing on the podium at all but one of the FR3.5 race weekends.
