Raikkonen to skip final two races, to undergo surgery

Kimi Raikkonen will not race in the final two Grands Prix this season after it emerged that the Finn would undergo a surgery for his ailing back, according to Turun Sanomat. Raikkonen’s back issues had flared up at the Singapore GP earlier this year, which nearly sidelined him for that weekend. According to his manager Steve Robertson, Raikkonen will head to Salzburg for the operation and is expected to need four weeks to recover effectively ending his season. Robertson told Autosport that the 34-year-old was suffering from “severe pain”.
