Bottas: ‘FP1 performance shows our potential'

It was a day of two-halves for Williams’ Valteri Bottas, with the Finn experiencing the highlight of finishing the opening practice session in third, before slumping to 16th in the afternoon. Bottas, who this week was confirmed at the Williams team for a second season, provided the stand-out performance of the day, with third in practice one, just 0.045 shy of Fernando Alonso’s session topping time.
