Perez not interested in backmarker seat

Outgoing McLaren driver Sergio Perez has admitted that he isn't interested in joining a constructor at the back of the Formula One grid. McLaren announced in the lead-up to last weekend's US Grand Prix that the Mexican would be replaced by Formula Renault 3.5 champion Kevin Magnussen. By his own admission, his sudden departure from the Woking team has put Perez in a difficult position, despite McLaren's efforts to secure him a drive elsewhere on the grid. However, the 23-year-old isn't interested in taking up a seat just anywhere.
