'No excuses' for McLaren in 2014

McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh says there will be no excuses if his team isn't back at the front of the Formula 1 field in 2014. The Woking-based outfit had a disastrous 2013 campaign and failed to score a podium finish for the first time since 1980. Whitmarsh welcomed the end of the year and is excited to see what next season brings with the dramatic regulation changes. 'It has been a long season and it seemed longer than I have ever known a season,' he told AUTOSPORT. 'Now I am excited about the future and that is a nice thing.
