FIA grants Pirelli December test

Sutton Images Enlarge The FIA has agreed to a tyre test in Bahrain later this month to allow Pirelli to work on its 2014 tyres. The Italian tyre company has stressed the importance of testing over the winter ahead of the change in regulations next year. Originally it put the test out to tender among the teams, but the FIA has decided to change the regulations and invited all teams to participate in a three-day test between December 17-19. "The F1 commission agreed to a change to the 2013 Sporting Regulations, on safety grounds, allowing the Formula One tyre supplier to carry out a three-day test in Bahrain from 17-19 December, 2013," read an FIA statement.
