Magnussen quickest on third day of Jerez test

McLaren rookie Kevin Magnussen has made an impressive start to his Formula One career by finishing quickest on the penultimate day of the first pre-season test in Jerez. The Danish driver took over from teammate Jenson Button in the afternoon on Thursday and quickly made an impression by posting a fastest time of 1:23.276, edging out Felipe Massa by just under half a second. Once again, it was a disjointed day of running in Jerez as a number of teams came across problems. Fernando Alonso's Ferrari F14 T stopped out on track with a problem, but the Spaniard soon got back going and finished the day fifth-fastest, completing the second highest number of laps (58).
