McLaren quickest in Bahrain as Red Bull start recovery

Kevin Magnussen was the quickest driver on day two of the second pre-season test in Bahrain on Thursday while Red Bull appeared to be on a recovery route as the defending world champions played catch up after its woeful sessions earlier. The rookie McLaren driver’s benchmark time was 1.5 seconds faster than the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg, who had topped the charts on Wednesday. Fernando Alonso was third in his Ferrari nearly completing a hundred laps. Mercedes’ favourite tag dented a bit after it suffered with some reliability issues but Nico Rosberg managed to post the fourth quickest time.
