Hamilton sets the pace on day three in Bahrain
Pre-season preparations for the 2014 Formula 1 season continued in Bahrain on Friday, with Lewis Hamilton topping the timesheets in the Mercedes W05.
Like the previous two days, fortunes were mixed with mechanical problems costing several teams track time – including Mercedes. A hydraulics issue meant Hamilton was forced to sit out for most of the afternoon session, completing 67 laps.
However, that didn't stop him from setting the fastest time of the week so far – a 1m34.263 – late in the morning. Jenson Button ended the day in second place and completed over 100 laps.
It was the Brit's first time in the car at the test, taking over driving duties from Kevin Magnussen....
