Pirelli pleased with tyre performance in Australia

Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery was pleased with the performance of the firm's 2014 F1 tyre range during Sunday's Australian Grand Prix. In comparison to last season, drivers suffered less degradation, graining and there were also considerably fewer marbles off-line. Pirelli's predictions of a two-stop strategy being the most popular choice proved to be correct. Adrian Sutil was the only driver to complete a one-stop race, with Sergio Perez pitting three times after picking up a puncture on lap one.
