Ecclestone tips Haas project to join Formula 1
Bernie Ecclestone has tipped the proposed entry of an American-based team run by Gene Haas, founder and joint-owner of the Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR outfit, to join the grid in 2015.
Back in December last year, the FIA opened a tender process to start searching for potential new F1 teams. Gene Haas is understood to have lodged an application and met with the FIA in March. A final decision was expected on February 28th, but this was delayed to an unknown date.
While there is still no official confirmation, Ecclestone says Haas' outfit is likely to be granted entry as the 12th team on the grid.
