Vandoorne to participate in Bahrain test

GP2 Media Service McLaren protege Stoffel Vandoorne will participate in his first Formula 1 test in Bahrain next week. Vandoorne will drive the MP4-29 during the post-race test which takes place at the track following the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend. 22-year-old Vandoorne will act as McLaren's reserve driver for most of this season and he will also race for ART in GP2 in 2014. Vandoorne was runner-up to Kevin Magnussen in last year's Formula Renault 3.5 Series. McLaren racing director Eric Boullier says that Vandoorne has 'natural ability'.
