Dennis: McLaren 'must end the season winning'

Ron Dennis says McLaren 'must' return to the top step of the podium in 2014, despite the current dominance of rivals Mercedes. The Woking-based outfit is trying to bounce back from a disastrous 2013, after it failed to score a podium finish for the first time since 1980. 'I think we could win races in the later part of the season,' he told the official Formula 1 website. 'I want to see a linear progression because we must end the season winning. This has to be our objective. 'We can’t win today. The fact is that F1 is less cyclical as a sport. We used to have a very clear winter closure – now it’s continuous.
