Shanghai Qualifying: Hamilton is the main man in the rain

Lewis Hamilton Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was in a class of his own at a wet and miserable Shanghai International Circuit, as he powered to pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix – his third top spot start of four so far this season – in a session which he dominated. Next best was Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo who was half a second down on Hamilton's top time. The Australian will start from the front row, and ahead of quadruple world champion teammate Sebastian Vettel who was third fastest. Nico Rosberg gave it his best shot at challenging teammate Hamilton, but a series of mistakes – including a spin a few hundred meters from the finish line on his final flying lap...
