Monaco Practice 1: Hamilton from Rosberg

Lewis Hamilton on top in FP1 Monaco has been touted as the race where Mercedes may meet their match, but all indications after the first free practice session on the streets of the principality is that the silver cars continue to hold the upper-hand as teammates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg slugged it out. The Mercedes pair traded places at the top of the timing screens after setting the best lap of 1:18.271 during a flurry of fast laps by the pair, and at the end of ninety minutes it was Hamilton who topped the session from Rosberg by a mere 0.032 seconds – clearly there is very little to separate the pair.
