Button cautiously optimistic of McLaren progress

Jenson Button said he is cautiously optimistic that McLaren will be competitive in Monaco following Thursday's practice sessions. While the majority of FP2 was wet, Button was 11th quickest in the first session and 0.3s off his team-mate Kevin Magnussen in ninth. With McLaren not having scored a point for three races it looks set to be able to challenge for the top ten this weekend and Button said the early signs were promising even if he is still unsure of the car's outright pace. “It's alright actually, I don't know how fast we are but the feeling is nice,” Button said. “It's nice to be back around Monaco; it's a crazy circuit really but it's a lot of fun.
