Nico Rosberg took pole position at Monaco for the second year in succession after beating team-mate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying. While the Red Bull pair of Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel had looked quick throughout practice, it was left to the two Mercedes' to fight it out in the final part of qualifying and it was Rosberg who had the edge after the first runs.
