You can please some people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time. It doesn't matter where in the world you are, or what you're trying to achieve – universal joy is beyond the control of any decision-maker. Formula One is far from immune from the cliché, and in fact the sport's current operating structures make it impossible to please a lot of people.
