Maldonado excluded from qualifying
Pastor Maldonado has been excluded from qualifying for the British Grand Prix for have an “insufficient amount of fuel to provide a fuel sample”. Towards the end of Q2, Maldonado said on the radio that he had no power and Lotus confirmed it was a fuel system issue which would require him to stop the car. Maldonado parked his Lotus on the outside of the track on the exit of Woodcote, but once it was returned to the pit lane the FIA found it could not take a fuel sample from the E22.
