Positive start for Williams

Rob Smedley believes Williams ticked all the right boxes during the two Free Practice sessions at Monza on Friday. As has become traditional now, Williams didn't show their true value during FP1 with Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa both outside the top 10, but the team were on the boil later on as Bottas was sixth fastest and Massa down in ninth. What was even more impressive was the race pace that the Finn showed during the longer runs in the afternoon. Smedley, head of performance engineering, was pleased with the day's work.
