Mercedes: Great to secure the front row once again
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the 2014 Italian Grand Prix with Nico Rosberg completing a front low lockout for the team. Today's result is the twelfth pole position for the team in 13 races
Lewis' pole represents his fifth of the season and his 10th for the team since the start of 2013
Nico claimed second position to ensure a sixth front-row lockout of the 2014 season for the team
Both drivers ran the prime tyres in Q1 and the option tyres in Q2 and Q3, ending each session in P1 and P2
The top six qualifiers and 7 out of the top 10 today are all powered by Mercedes-Benz Hybrid Power Units
