Ericsson to start from pits after FP3 infringement

Getty Images Enlarge Marcus Ericsson will start the Italian Grand Prix from the pit lane after it was ruled he failed to heed to yellow flags in FP3. Ericsson qualified last on Saturday so cannot take a grid penalty, meaning he will have to line up at the end of the pits for the start at Monza. The yellow flags came out in FP3 when Sergio Perez stopped at Curva Grande but a report issued by the stewards said Ericsson did not back off significantly enough. Ericsson has also been handed three penalty points on his licence, taking him to five - seven away from a one-race ban.
