Smedley: Maintaining third was objective

– Williams Head of Vehicle Performance Rob Smedley says he is happy the team managed to retain third place in the Constructors' Championship in Singapore.The Grove squad switched both drivers from a three-stop strategy to two following the long safety car period and while it ultimately failed to work for Valtteri Bottas, with the Finn slipping back from sixth to 11th in the final few laps, Felipe Massa was able to collect fifth place."We knew it was going to be damage limitation this weekend and on balance we should be pleased with the result as up until the final few corners, we were set to score the same number of points as our nearest rivals in the Championship," Smedley...
