Seven reasons why F1 teams should not field three cars each

With the financial strain choking teams at the back of the grid, Formula One could be staring at eight teams next year, perhaps even seven, which with each fielding three cars. Sporting regulations require at least 20 cars on the starting grid, as promised by commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone to the sport’s governing body, but with the future of Caterham, Marussia and Sauber in doubt – despite their confidence of being present in 2015 – the grid could dwindle.
