Renault prepared for engine penalties
+ Renault says it is prepared for the four teams it supplies to face penalties before the end of the season.
Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat became the first driver to take a penalty after he exceeded the maximum allocation of five engine elements – from six different components – ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, incurring a ten-place grid drop.
With half the field having used at least five of at least one element, Renault head of track operations Remi Taffin says he expects penalties to mount up over the coming races, with some teams even opting to conserve their power units in practice.
