De Silvestro's F1 future in doubt

Simona de Silvestro's prospects of joining the Formula 1 grid in 2015 have been hit by a setback after Sauber confirmed that 'financial reasons on her side' have ended her testing deal.
De Silvestro joined Sauber as an 'affiliated driver' at the start of the year and tested for the squad during two private sessions when she piloted a Sauber C31 at Fiorano and Valencia.
Former IndyCar racer De Silvestro had been scheduled to participate in the first practice session for the United States Grand Prix in Austin later this month but that has now been abandoned.
