Bottas not heated over F1 tyre blanket failure
Valtteri Bottas has insisted a tyre blanket failure during opening practice for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix hasn't hurt him too much. Bottas only completed 9 laps in FP1 at the Sochi Autodrom due to the issue, but managed 33 laps in the afternoon and ended the day fifth overall on a 1 minute 40.573 seconds – just 0.031 seconds off Nico Rosberg in P4 and 0.158 seconds up on Williams team-mate Felipe Massa in seventh. “It is the first time it has happened, but I guess these things can happen,” Bottas said, when asked about it. “It didn't hurt much as a whole day because I still got a good amount of laps in during practice two.
