Gearbox issue hampered qualifying for Maldonado

11th October, 2014 (F1Plus / Rosie Baillie) - A gearbox issue hampered Pastor Maldonado’s efforts during qualifying for the Russian Grand Prix. The Lotus driver was on the backfoot entering qualifying after he was unable to set a timed lap during FP3 due to an energy store issue. During qualifying he had a gearbox issue, which resulted in him qualifying 20th. “Pastor lost track time in the morning so was already on the back foot, then he faced further problems at the start of qualifying which led to an issue for his gearbox,” said Alan Permane, trackside operations director for Lotus....
