Bottas: Williams F1 did best we could
Valtteri Bottas took his fifth podium of the season in the inaugural Russian Grand Prix and feels Williams “did the best we could”. Bottas kept eventual winner Lewis Hamilton honest in the early stages, but then dropped back towards the end of his first stint. He was then passed by the recovering Nico Rosberg around halfway through and eventually finished 3.8 seconds back, posting the fastest lap of the race on the final tour. “I need to be happy for us as a team. What we have been doing since last year is amazing – again on the podium and a good amount of points,” Bottas said immediately after the chequered flag. “Today we were best of the rest.
