Hamilton edges Rosberg in second US session

Lewis Hamilton edged out Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg by just 0.003s to top the second practice session for the United States Grand Prix.
Rosberg set a time of 1:39.088 to lead Hamilton by 0.053s after their low-fuel runs on Option tyres but Hamilton responded on his second flying lap to post a 1:39.085.
However, Hamilton’s session ended 15 minutes prematurely with his Mercedes W05 Hybrid in the garage. Both Mercedes drivers had complained of gearbox problems while beginning their race simulations.
Fernando Alonso was third quickest for Ferrari, albeit over a second behind Hamilton’s time. Daniel Ricciardo recovered from missing most of the first practice...
