Maldonado opens account in Austin
– Lotus driver Pastor Maldonado opened his points account for the season in the United States Grand Prix, after coming home in ninth place.Maldonado had not finished higher than twelfth until Sunday's race and initially dropped to tenth at the chequered flag after the addition of a five-second penalty for speeding in the pit lane.However, he was later bumped back up to ninth, when Toro Rosso's Jean-Éric Vergne was given a five-second stop/go penalty for his clash with Maldonado's team-mate Romain Grosjean."It was a great fight from the very beginning; it felt good, the strategy was good and the car pace was surprisingly good!"
