Monaco Grand Prix winner Beltoise dies

– Ex-Formula 1 driver and Monaco Grand Prix winner Jean-Pierre Beltoise has died at the age of 77.Beltoise started out in motorcycle racing, claiming 11 French national titles, before switching his focus to four-wheeled motorsport.He suffered a career-threatening crash at the 1964 Reims 12-hour sportscar race, but recovered to climb the single-seater ladder with Matra.In 1967, Beltoise made a belated Formula 1 debut with the French marque at the United States Grand Prix, having previously failed to qualify in Monaco.He claimed his maiden podium finish in the Netherlands the following year, finishing second to dominant race winner Jackie Stewart.Beltoise remained in the Matra fold...
