F1: Marussia request to run 2014 car rejected by rivals
Marussia's hopes of making a Formula 1 comeback has been dealt a shattering blow after its request to run the 2014 car for the new season did not receive sufficient backing. The team had plans to return at the first race of the F1 season in Australia next month with last year's car as they do not have time to build a new one. The request to use the 2014 model required a unanimous vote from the rival teams but it didn't come to fruition. The team had hoped to race again under a new name after ceasing trade in October and missing the end of last season.
