Ex-Ferrari president Montezemolo gets Olympics role

Sutton Images Enlarge Former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has been put in charge of Rome's bid for the 2024 Olympic Games. Montezemolo stepped down from Ferrari in September after 23 years at the helm, during which time he presided over the Scuderia's dominant years of the early 2000s. Though most associated with his role in motor sport, Montezemolo previously presided over Italy's successful bid for the 1990 World Cup. The Italian Olympic Committee says Montezemolo's popularity and reputation from his tenure with Ferrari meant he was their first choice for the role. "I don't think anyone in Italy is as popular as Luca is abroad," IOC president Giovanni Malago said...
