McLaren's day cut short by MGU-K problem

+ McLaren has been forced to end its testing programme at Barcelona early after an MGU-K problem. Jenson Button managed 21 laps at the wheel of the Honda-powered MP4-30 before encountering a faulty seal on the MGU-K. Button ended the morning sixth fastest, posting a best lap of 1:28.182 before the problem cut short the team’s running. The MGU-K issue will require a full power unit change and the team has confirmed it will not run again on Thursday. In a change to the team’s original schedule, local favourite Fernando Alonso is scheduled to drive for the team on Friday. Image courtesy of Octane Photographic
