Maldonado fastest on opening day in Barcelona

+ Pastor Maldonado set the pace on the opening day of the second pre-season test in Barcelona. Maldonado, who caused two stoppages in the morning, posted a lap of 1:25.011 on the soft tyres to jump to the top of the timesheets in the final hour, ultimately ending the day fastest for Lotus. Jerez pacesetter Kimi Raikkonen topped the standings for most of the afternoon with a quick medium tyre run set right after lunchtime, but the Finn slipped to second, a tenth shy of Maldonado’s best time. Daniel Ricciardo completed 56 laps on his way to third fastest, despite spending most of the morning confined to the garage in the Red Bulll, while Sergio Perez was fourth after replacing the recalled...
