Lotus tops day one of Barcelona test amid Wolff, Nasr crash

Lotus' Pastor Maldonado topped times on the opening day of the second pre-season test in Barcelona on Thursday while Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton had to cut his outing short due to an illness, Felipe Nasr and Susie Wolff collided on track and McLaren's woes continued. Maldonado's time around the Catalunya circuit in Spain was two-tenths quicker than the pole position time set by Hamilton for the Spanish Grand Prix last year. It was the first time a Ferrari-powered car didn't lead the times in the five days of testing so far this year as Kimi Raikkonen was a tenth and a half off the pace, although the Finn too was faster than the pole time from last year.
